JOSEPH'S MILITARIA AND HOME FRONT
COLLECTION, MY ONLINE MUSEUM.

Welcome

Welcome to my online Museum I am dedicating it to my father who was an old soldier who fought in Korea and Malaya he passed away on May 5th 2006. One of the main reasons for this site and my collection is to honour all those who have served their country and put themselves in harms way for me and you despite being treated pretty poorly by politicians and certain members of society. And as with most military and home front collectors its my dream to own a museum but short of a lottery win this is the closest I will get to it. But its not just the military I wish to honour there are also the home front workers. The wardens, land army girls, firemen, W.V.S ladies, fire guards and many others. My main collecting area is 20th century British from the Boer war to the first gulf war. I update the site fairly regularly as I add more items to my collection or I find out more information about a particular item. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has donated items to my collection and given me information and corrected my mistakes.
............ Regards Joseph.

Finding your way around the site.

To search this site for a particular item use the second search engine at the top.

The site is in two sections as you scroll down the page you will see the Home Front section then Militaria. Both sections have thumb nails of war time posters with a general headings telling you what's behind them. When you click on one of these you will see thumb nails of a representative item of what is behind that thumb nail. For example in militaria equipment you will see thumb nails of pieces of webbing amongst other things. Running your cursor over them will tell you what pattern of webbing is behind them. There could be dozens of different pieces of webbing of that pattern behind that thumb nail. Clicking on the thumb nails will take you to pictures of and information about that item or similar items that I have grouped together. When you have finished looking at the item or items at the bottom of the page you will find a dig for victory poster clicking on this will take you back to the thumb nails page. At the bottom of the thumb nails page you will see a costal command poster clicking on this will take you back to the home page. In the militaria section there are three slightly different sections. The first is radio, poems, autographs, videos. Clicking on this poster will take you to four more posters running your cursor over them will tell you which is which. The Gallery takes you directly to the photographs and at the bottom left hand corner of the Militaria section you will see a poppy clicking on this will take you directly to the veterans section if you don't look at anything els on my site please look at this section as this is what the site is mainly all about remembering the men and women who served their country. Plus don't miss the veterans recordings. To see the latest updates click on the link below LAST UP DATED and this will take you to the page were the latest updates are and the link its self will tell you what the update is.
